I always assumed wizards just ignored science, because the fact that “magic” exists, can explain anything. But there are MuggleBorn wizards, ones who, until they were eleven, lived in the real world and learned science and things. Did they all just abandon that normal, muggle knowledge, like Harry did? It’s always been there, itching in the back of my mind.

See, I think he’s reading it like a work of fiction. Like you or I would read a Harry Potter book. He’s not “oh muggle science is brilliant, let’s learn more!” He’s all “oooh do you think that black hole will swallow up the whole Universe?”

I think he is reading it like science and that’s why he can do wandless magic. Because he’s not ignoring the laws of the universe, he’s working with them.

He’s a genius of his age. But we don’t know his name because in Harry’s society he’s also a pariah. A freak. He’s worse than Mr. Weasley, who is just an oddball collector, because he puts faith in muggle science. And then he gives it legitimacy by actually acting as though muggle science is true.
